  • Ariel Coner's Story

    Hi! I'm Ariel!
I was born in raised in the heart of Chicago. I lived there all the way up until I graduated from college and lived with my parents for a very long time. Although most people my age moved out when they were only 19 or 20, I decided to live for free with my parents so that I could save up money while I went to school. Since my parents never agreed to pay for my education, I took on the cost and responsibility myself, which didn't allow me to have the cash flow for an apartment or other living expenses. The other thing that made me a little bit different from my friends and kids my age was that I actually liked my parents. Living with them was wonderful and I save money all at the same time.

After I graduated from college I had saved up a lot of money and paid for my college along the way. Graduating without any student loan debt was so rewarding and although I made a lot of sacrifices to be able to have that, it was completely worth it. I didn't realize that majority of all college students will leave with thousands of dollars in student loan debt. I have to say this is astonishing because it's not like I made a lot of money through college, I just saved most of it and invested some of it. My parents certainly didn't help me with any of it other than letting me live with them for free. I believe that if we didn't live in such a "keeping up with the Jones's" society, people would have more money, and wouldn't be in as bad of debt as we are in now.

Now living in Wyoming I was able to get a great job working for Apex Professionals LLC. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful job and to be able to work with such wonderful people. My money saving skills have truly paid off because at age 23 I own a house here in Wyoming and have no debt!! I am truly blessed!
